• No model number
• No serial number
• No listing or approval markings

The notice explained that a genuine Wilkins 975XL or 975XL2 is ASSE listed and approved by the Foundation for Cross-Connection Control and Hydraulic Research at USC. That approval is required in many areas of the United States. 

The second example involved a product listed as a Watts 009M3-QT assembly. The ABPA stated that the product and its packaging did not appear to identify Watts as the manufacturer, raising questions about its authenticity and approval status. 

These examples show why a familiar model name in an online listing is not enough. Buyers need to inspect the actual product and packaging.
